Cherry Liquor, gin, freshly squeezed lemon and orange juice, and sparkling Prosecco make a sweet tart cocktail that goes down smooth and easy.

This Cherry Cocktail Exists Because I Made Black Forest Cake

Black Forest Cake calls for cherry liquor to be brushed over Devil's Food chocolate cake before layering it up with Morello Cherries and whipped cream. So there I was, with plenty of cherry liquor and some extra Morello Cherries.

What to do, what to do?

After about 2 seconds of contemplation, I concocted this lovely cocktail that's slightly sweet and tart, smooth and bubbly.

I happen to know from personal experience that they go superbly with Black Forest Cake. But, I wouldn't turn one down if it was served with pretty much anything. Or nothing at all.
