Super easy
Fresh Tomatillo Salsa
Use these ingredients in whatever proportion suits your fancy:
Tomatillos Yellow Onion (red works too) Jalapeño Tomato Cilantro Chopped chipotle peppers Fresh lime juice Herdez Salsa Verde Salt Sugar - just about 1 tsp Garlic powder
Peel the papery skins off the tomatillos and give them a wash. Then chop into very small pieces.
Remove the seeds from a jalapeño, dice, and toss it in with the tomatillos.
Toss in a chopped tomato...
And some chopped chipotle peppers.
Love these pre-diced chipotle peppers, when I can find them.
Toss in some chopped yellow onion (red works too)
Not a fan of raw onions? Use onion powder instead.
And a handful of chopped fresh cilantro.
“Secret” Ingredient: a bit of Herdez Salsa Verde, which I had in the fridge, and thought, “why not?” Now I don’t want to make fresh salsa without it.
Add fresh lime juice, salt, and garlic powder to taste. Plus, add about 1 teaspoon of sugar, which brightens everything up.
