Instant Pot Short Ribs
Optional, but recommended!
Set short ribs on a plate and sprinkle lightly with salt.
Pre-salting flavors the meat from the inside out.
Cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
Dump all the sauce ingredients into the Instant Pot:
1 cup soy sauce 2 1/2 cups broth or water 2/3 cup brown sugar 3-inch piece of ginger, chopped 4 tbsp toasted sesame oil 6 tbsp chili garlic sauce
Nestle the short ribs into the sauce...
Close the lid and choose the manual high pressure function set to high.
Cook the short ribs for 45 minutes...
followed by a 10 – 15 minute natural release.
Remove the short ribs from the pot...
Skim the excess fat from the cooking liquid...
And pour the liquid into a saucepan. Boil until thickened and reduced.
Pour the sauce over the meat.
Serve Short Ribs on their own, over rice or potatoes, or use the meat in a variety of other recipes.
